Trump Imposes New Tariffs on U.S. Imports from Dozens of Countries

President Trump signed an executive order shortly after 7 p.m. Eastern on July 31, 2025 in Washington D.C. The order imposes new reciprocal tariffs ranging from 10% to 41% on U.S. imports from dozens of countries. India faces a 25% tariff on exports to the United States effective August 1, 2025. Singapore is not specifically mentioned among countries facing individual rates. Taiwan faces a 20% tariff rate under the new order. South Africa faces a 30% reciprocal tariff. Many Canadian goods will face an increased tariff of 35%, up from 25%, due to Canada’s failure to curb fentanyl flows.
