Russia carried out one of the most intense aerial assaults of the war, launching nearly 1,000 drones at Ukraine within just 24 hours, leaving at least 7 to 8 people dead and dozens more injured. The large-scale attack unfolded between March 23 and March 24, 2026, beginning overnight and continuing well into the following day. It stood out not only for its size but also for its timing, as Russia combined nighttime bombardment with a rare and massive daytime drone offensive, turning the assault into a continuous, round-the-clock operation.   In total, an estimated 948 to 1,000 drones were launched.
