ICC Rejected Israel's requests & Issued Warrants of Prime Minister & Defence Minister of Israel !

On Thursday 21st November, 2024 three following judges of Pre-Trial Chamber I of International Criminal Court (ICC) located at Oude Waalsdorperweg 10 2597 AK The Hague The Netherlands, have taken the two decisions through Judgement No. ICC-01/18-375 against two requests submitted by the Israel on 26th September 2024, and against the war crimes committed by Israel from at least 8 October 2023 until at least 20 May 2024:


1. Judge Nicolas Guillou (Presiding)

2. Judge Reine Adélaïde Sophie Alapini-Gansou

3. Judge Beti Hohler




Decision No. 1:

ICC rejected the challenges made by the State of Israel brought under articles 18 and 19 of the Rome Statute.


Decision No. 2:

ICC issued warrants of arrest for Mr Benjamin Netanyahu (Prime Minister of Israel) - born on 21 October 1949, and Mr Yoav Gallant (Minister of Defence of Israel) - born on 8 November 1958.




Rejected Request No. 1:

Israel challenged the Court’s jurisdiction over the Situation in the State of Palestine in general, and over Israeli nationals more specifically, on the basis of article 19(2) of the Statute.


Rejected Request No. 2:

Israel requested that the Chamber order the Prosecution to provide a new notification of the initiation of an investigation to its authorities under article 18(1) of the Statute, and the Chamber may halt any proceedings before the Court in the relevant situation, including the consideration of the applications for warrants of arrest for Mr Benjamin Netanyahu and Mr Yoav Gallant, submitted by the Prosecution on 20th May 2024.
